People choose to build a new home for a number of different reasons. However, many choose to build because it offers them the opportunity to create a home that is tailor-made for their individual needs. This means the flexibility to choose the style of the home, its location, the layout and design. While many people build their home because of the choice it provides them, there can be an element of the "unknown" when it comes to the cost of building. While pricing of the land and home design may be straightforward, many home-buyers have been caught out by "unexpected extras" when building their home. There is no doubt that there are a range of unknown variables with building a new home. This can include anything from footings and site works to underground power and sewer drainage which adds thousands of dollars to the final price of construction. However, once a home-buyer has signed a contract for an agreed fixed sum, at Rossdale we think that should be the end of the story. In 1996, Rossdale Homes released its fixed price guarantee - the first of its type in South Australia, and just one example of Rossdale's over-riding philosophy of 'Building Harmony'. Under this concept, the only way the price of the home can be increased is if the home-buyer makes changes to the fittings or design. The price cannot be increased by the builder. This puts the onus on us to get it right the first time and provides you with additional security. With the Rossdale Contract, people know exactly how much the home will cost them at the time of signing. This provides you with the ability to work out and budget for your home loan repayments, secure in the knowledge that nothing will change. We think that it is critical to provide predictability in the home building process. This provides confidence and peace of mind that there won't be any unexpected surprises.
